Ohio requires certification. Please read carefully.

State Requirements: One person on staff who is certified. 

Food Protection Manager: Required. 

Food Handlers: Recommended but not required. Please click the Basic Food Handler (BFH) link to get certified now.

Exceptions: County requirements - contact your local health department.

Manager Training Hours: Ohio Department of  Health requires 15 hours of training offered by a course provider that has been approved by the Ohio Department of Health.     

Food Handler Course: Specific training regulations, please contact your local health department.

Food Manager Certification and Food Handler Certificate Renewal: Food Manager every 5 years; Food Handler every 2 years.

National Registry of Food Safety Professionals Acceptance: Yes

Course Materials Available: Yes
