State Requirements: Food Protection Manager required per location.

Food Protection Manager: Required. Please check AAA Food Handler Training School's (AAAFHTS) Certified Professional Food Safety Manager (CPFSM), Convenience Store Food Safety Manager (CSFSM), and Grocery Store Food Safety Manager (GSFSM) programs for details.

Food Handlers: Not required – see exceptions. Please click the Basic Food Handler (BFH) link to get certified now.

Exceptions: Food Handler cards are required in Jefferson and Mobile counties.

Food Manager Training Hours: Recommended but not required. AAAFHTS offers engaging and complete online as well as DVD video training series to help prepare for your Food Safety Manager certification examination.

Food Handler Course: Jefferson County requires 90 minutes of training within 21 days of hire. Mobile county does not have any training regulations. Please click the Basic Food Handler (BFH) link to get certified now.

Food Manager Certification and Food Handler Certificate Renewal: Food Manager 5 years; Food Handler 5 years in Mobile County; Jefferson County does not have renewal requirements.

National Registry of Food Safety Professionals acceptance: Yes

Course Materials Available: Yes. Please check AAAFHTS's CPFSM, CSFSM, and GSFSM programs for specific details. 

Approved Options: Classroom, Home Study Course, Online Training, and Pearson Vue or Prometric Testing Centers.
